Biography

My formal art studies began at Sacramento State University under the instruction of artists such as Joan Moment, Jimi Suzuki, and, primarily, Oliver Jackson.  I received my BA in art in 1983 and upon graduating traveled to Europe to pursue an independent art study project.  I lived and worked in London for a time before returning to the United States.  In 1989 I returned to college at Sonoma State University where I acquired my single subject teaching credentials in Art.

I settled in Marin County California where I met my husband, Jef, and together we raised our daughter Kylen.  After taking a workshop with Inez Storer, I took a strong interest in mixed media, which has been the primary focus of my work. I also have a strong interest in ceramics and have studied ceramics with Susan Honatalus.  In 2009 our family relocated to Central Oregon where I continue to explore and work in both mixed media and ceramics.

I am a past member of The Marin Arts Council, as well as Indian Valley Artists and have shown my work in many member and juried shows, as well as in other galleries around the San Francisco Bay Area and the United States.  In 1999 and 2000, I participated in the Marin Arts Festival at the Civic Center Lagoon.  I have received awards of recognition in several venues including being a recipient of a 2000 Marin Arts Council Individual Artists Grant.
